AZITHROMYCIN should be a macrolide antibiotic that interferes because of the growth of bacterial cells. It could be used for treatment of bacterial infections in lot of different parts of the body. Azithromycin also treats sexually transmitted vaginal or urinary tract infections caused by chlamydia. It doesn't work for colds, flu, or some other virus infections.
