Given that it undercuts rivals like the Audi TT and Nissan 370Z, the GT 86 makes a strong case for itself. Even though the 2.0litre, 197bhp flat four engine can feel gutless at low revs, the GT 86 proves a sweet chassis can be enormously rewarding.
This is where the GT 86 excels. The lightweight, perfectly balanced chassis is a joy to drive and the rearweeldrive setup is superb fun in corners. The steering gives great feedback and the brakes are progressive rather than biting, which inspires confidence in the driver's ability. The GT 86 is also a better motorway car than you might expect. It has a relatively forgiving ride and cruises well in top gear, too, although the cabin does get quite noisy at high speed. The biggest problem, though, is that the 2.0litre flat four requires an enthusiastic attitude and some eager gearchanges to make the most of the 197bhp on tap. The narrow power band can prove frustrating, and at low revs this car doesn't come close to rivals like the Nissan 370Z. However, if you're prepared to push for performance, then the GT 86 can offer an extremely rewarding drive.

The GT 86 debuted with a distinct metallic orange paintjob that showed off the car's aggressive stance and aerodynamic creases, while highlighting the low roofline and short tail. Although the gaping central grille and vents in the front bumper give the Toyota an imposing front end, there are very few distinguishing features to separate it from its Subaru sibling. Stand either next to an Audi TT, and the Japanese pair lack the premium feel of their German rival. This is even more evident inside, where the cabin is awash with cheap plastics, making the whole car feel less upmarket than its price tag suggests.

Eventually, the left ventricle can work so hard that it starts to fail. It can no longer pump blood as well as it did. Blood returning to the heart from the blood vessels backs up into the lungs, causing pulmonary congestion, and further backup into the body, causing weight gain and fluid retention. Overall, this is called congestive heart failure.
A ventricular septal defect can allow newly oxygenated blood to flow from the left ventricle, where the pressures are higher, to the right ventricle, where the pressures are lower, and mix with unoxygenated blood. The mixed blood in the right ventricle flows back or recirculates into the lungs. This means that the right and left ventricles are working harder, pumping a greater volume of blood than they normally would.
If the VSD is large and surgically uncorrected, pressure can build excessively in the lungs, called pulmonary hypertension. The higher the lung or pulmonary pressure, the greater the chance of blood flowing from the right ventricle to the left ventricle, backwards, causing unoxygenated blood to be pumped to the body and cyanosis (blue skin).
Normally, unoxygenated blood from the body returns to the right half of the heart, that is the right atrium, then the right ventricle, which pumps the blood to the lungs to absorb oxygen. After leaving the lungs, the oxygenated blood returns to the left half of the heart, that is the left atrium, then the left ventricle, where it is pumped out to provide oxygen to all the tissues of the body.

Having said this, the hike offered good views on the first half of the trail and the way down from the Marshall Saddle via Marshall Gulch is simply gorgeous (and much better maintained). Lots of green, the songs of the birds and the bubbling of the water make this part worth the whole trip. This was what made me enjoy the whole hike!
When I did this trail, it turned out to be a bit tedious: Lots of fallen trees blocked the trail, making it necessary to find a way around around or to climb over them (getting charcoaled hands and clothes, as some of them have been burned in the big fire). Additionally, the parking lot at the Marshall Gulch Picnic Area was closed when I did the trail, adding about 0.7 miles oneway or 1.4 miles (roundtrip), so the total of the hike was 5.3 miles instead of the advertised 3.0 miles.
A day loop through the high country near Mount Lemmon. This trail offers a popular day loop through high montane country from the Marshall Gulch Picnic Area. It is often crowded during summer and early autumn, especially on weekends. The aspen stands for which the trail is named are among the largest in the state, and put on a brief fall color display that generally peaks in late October.
