, AMCBrian Markinson can keep a secret.
In fact, up until very recently, the North Vancouver actor kept a real whopper.
More than a week ago, Mad Men returned for a much ballyhooed sixth season and there, in the middle of that season opener, was Markinson in a pivotal role. As cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Arnold Rosen, he bonds with neighbour Don Draper over Rosenâs resuscitation of a doorman befallen by a heart attack.
I havenât been able to say anything until now, said Markinson, coming clean about his Hermes Birkin Bag Red Golden For Sale 42 CM involvement in the AMC award-winning series. You get good news but you canât say anything. You know you really get to feel it if you get to share it.
For the record, the showâs creator Matthew Weiner is obsessive about protecting his show, so much so that apparently he issued a list of spoilers he wanted TV critics to avoid in their reviews of the première.
Matt gets up before every table reading and says, âYou have to get on board with this. You donât talk,â Markinson recalled.
He said, âWe are very serious about that. We are very protective â you know on the penalty of possibly losing your job.â

Being a New York Jew, they thought I would be a good New York Jew, laughed Markinson, who was raised in Brooklyn.
In the series, Markinsonâs Rosen and Jon Hammâs Draper develop a bit of a bromance, well, if that can be possible when one of the men is sleeping with the otherâs wife.
My character says to Don in that first episode that âpeople will do anything to alleviate their anxiety,â Markinson said.

Another thing that resonates with Draper is the fact that Rosen has a type of life-and-death power that all the successful ad campaigns in the world canât come close to.
said Markinson.
Markinson, Balenciaga Outlets who has had a successful 25-year career, certainly understands the weight this recent resumĂŠ entry carries in Hollywood. But he is tickled mostly by what it means closer to home.

After seeing how the media and the fans flock to the principal players on Mad Men, Markinson considers himself fortunate that he has been able to go to work on Woody Allen films and hit TV shows and still manage to enjoy a life free of paparazzi and the tabloid press.
I have perfect balance, actually. I can live in Vancouver and lead an anonymous life and then I can go down there and work on amazing projects, said Markinson, who spent 10 years in Los Angeles before he moved his family here to his wifeâs hometown.
A veteran of many sci-fi TV series , Markinson is probably best known in these parts for his long-running role of Police Chief Bill Jacobs on Da Vinciâs Inquests and Da Vinciâs City Hall. And now he is another cop in the locally-shot Showcase series Continuum.
But while he is on a break from shooting the hit sci-fi series, he is trying to fit in a small indie movie, starting a big blockbuster and travelling back in time for the miniseries Klondike, set in 1895.
I am a bit schizophrenic right now, Markinson said. Iâm a blithering mess is what I am.
Shot in the Calgary area, the Discovery Channelâs first foray into scripted TV revolves around the Gold Rush and sports an impressive cast, including Tim Roth, Abbie Cornish and Sam Shepard. Markinson is excited to work with Shepard, a celebrated playwright.
A graduate of the New Yorkâs American Academy of Dramatic Arts Markinson has, here in Vancouver, Starred in Samuel Beckettâs Waiting for Godot, David Mametâs Glengarry Glen Ross as well as Shepardâs True West.
I literally have photos of myself as Lee on the phone, laughed Markinson about the character he played in True West. My heroes are writers ... the idea of filling a blank page is amazing.
His reverence has paid off as he has worked with some of the best writers around, including Allen, Mike Nichols, Chris Haddock and, of course, most recently Weiner.
He is a bona fide genius, says Markinson about Weiner. He has an incredible writing staff, but everything comes from and is filtered through Mattâs vision. He knows better than anybody where this thing is going.

Or who spills the beans â again, something Markinson wonât do this time when pressed about the top secret Godzilla.
Yeah, the lizard movie, laughs Markinson about the Vancouver-shot blockbuster that stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche. I had to sign a non-disclosure. But Markinson admits, leading into the shoot, that keeping quiet isnât really that tough.
They donât release the scripts. I am walking into this thing basically ready to take the great leap into whatever they want me to do. I know my characters name and I have a sense of what I will be wearing, said Markinson who added, laughing, it will be clothing.
